王玉刚，男，1976年1月生，河南省平玉县人，汉族，中共党员，博士，副研究员，硕士生导师。 

学历教育：  

中科院新疆生态与地理研究所自然地理学博士（2004-2007）、新疆农业大学草业科学硕士（2001-2004）、西北农林科技大学沙漠治理学士（1997-2001）。  

工作经历：  

2007-至今：中国科学院新疆生态与地理研究，2007年被聘任为助理研究员，2008年被聘任为副研究员。

研究方向：
干旱区物质循环及其与环境关系。

承担项目：

中科院知识创新工程重要方向项目－青年人才类:干旱区内陆河流域平原区可溶性碳库大小与周转率研究(编号KZCX2-EW-QN316) 执行期间: 2011-2013; 经费60万元。
